You obviously misunderstand the results of a format. A format of a PC HD will wipe the contents of the drive. So unless you are formatting a drive that is not the drive running the scheduler, I don't think you can do that. I also don't think you could schedule something like that, because the format program requires certain parameters that I doubt can be set through the scheduler.

My advice, do not do such an task through a scheduler. It's dangerous and any formatting should involve human interaction to some degree.

    Hi ober,
i totally understand the "word" format. that's why i'm trying to do it? i would like to do thing that suddenly popup in my heads.
for my curiosity i will try to do it.that's why i'm asking help from here?

as far as i concern,i just wipe out all the data in my pc. that's ok for me if i learn something new, rite. About the scheduler,i just need it to trigger the program inside the schedule and it will start to format the harddisk.i think the scheduler is no longer useful after it trigger the program. its all my logical way.

hope someone here can help me...

Why can't you just format it yourself? Why do you have to trigger it from another program?

Also, to do a clean format, you will not want to start it from a windows environment. You will want to use another utility, most likely from a boot disk.

I'm certainly not going to explain how to schedule a format. I think it's a bad idea and I'm really not even sure if it can be done.

joanna: take a hint - if you have one HD and you want to use the scheduler on that HD to run a format utility on that HD, it won't work. if, however, you're formatting a slave drive, that may be possible.

it sounds like you only have one HD, and in that case the VERY best thing to do is to boot off a floppy/CD/etc. and format/scandisk it. the most automatic thing I suggest you do is start a format before you go to sleep and then start a surface scan before you go to work in the morning...

or, you could just take a big magnet and throw it right into the center of your computer case...

yes indeed, the whole adding format to the scheduler sounds like a virus/malware idea...
