    My SDRAM miracle

I went to shop and buy a 256 MB Kingston SDRAM for my friend. The speed is 133 MHz and I hope there would be no problem at all. But his computer, Compaq, don't respond anything at all. That memory card seem working at my clone computer and SDRAM of my computer with same specifications but different brand(Vmemory) work at his compaq computer.

I am wondering it could happen? Now my friend ask me to exchange my memory card with his. Should I do that?

    I appreciate every advice.

    Thanks

    1) Your english sucks.
    2) It's not a memory "card". It's a "stick" of RAM.
    3) It's not going to hurt to try your RAM in his computer... if it works, you could swap the two.

find out what motherboard it is, some motherboards (especially on hp/compaq) won't take 256mb in slot0 . From 99-01 or so they can take 256mb in slot1, but any version of windows past 98 will freak all the time (the bios can support the memory I guess, but it won't function correctly). So your best bet is to give him 2x128 instead of a single 256

Thanks for your advice. Compaq won't take 256 on slot 1. But he has already 64 MB, and he want to install winxp. So I have no choice but to advice him to buy 256MB. No brand work on compaq, except only one from my computer, which is Jet-ram. Maybe I should swap with his stick.
