    AGP Slot

Is the AGP slot on a AMD board different from that of an AGP slot on an intel board??

No. There are, however, different types of AGP slots. Some are longer than others and support different AGP cards.

the newer style has two splits as opposed to one, and is held in with a little plastic clip like those on ram slots. Its known as AGP2 to some people.

Are you sure it's an AGP slot? I don't think it is out yet, but PCI-Express cards are coming.

You using older (2x AGP) cards? Those won't work in an 8x AGP slot.
