Useless poll, IMO. I've never had a CPU burnout, and one that I replaced for someone else was an Intel PIII, but it was hit by lightning.

Only CPU's I know of that burnt out are due to dumb arses like RoD overclocking them. I have had a few power supplies/motherboards get fried due to bad power in Oki.

My chip didnt fry, the watercooling died. And beyond that, the temps were 95C and the chip is still alive and kicking like nothing happened.

So AMD scores again, thank you.

The only chip I've had overheat was an old 500MHz K6-2, that was just because the cip fan went out on it. Before you say anything at all, it wasn't a stock fan, so don't give me that crap from your other idiotic "AMD fans suck" post.

Other than that, none of my chips have overheated. Both of my Athlon XP 2000+ machines are running smoothly, my brother's 1700+ is running smoothly, and my old 486 is still running after being used for 12 years. I use it for various network stuff.
