we dont have a lot of those in australia and you have to go to special shops like videopro to get them.

Exactly. High-end audio shops are the only places you can get them.

To provide substance/stay on topic....I've had no problems with this AMD 2000+ CPU for nearly a year and a half, nor the AMD 2800+ certified fan I use for it.

Maybe you should have put the AMD heatsink on properly?

My 600 MHz overclocked 1700+ (2.0 GHz) runs relatively cool on a heatsink designed for much less (volcano 7)...

Even when I had my 2200+, which was one of the hottest running AMD's ever (even hotter than the palaminos) it would run full load under 45 degrees with the stock heatsink.

Mm. I've got an Athlon 1.333 ghz CPU, around 2 and a half years now I believe. It hasn't burnt out yet... although I had my computer custom-made, and I picked out a 60 dollar fan for it Sure it keeps the CPU *cool* (enough), but you can hear the stupid thing all the way down the hallway and up the stairs, if you listen carefully. The noise of the 4 various other fans in the box combined, then multiplied by about five times, doesn't even compare to the one CPU fan
