    Halo on Linux

I was wondering if this could be done. I know there are some Windows emulators such as winex and the sort, but I read on a site that Halo couldn't be ported to Linux. Anyone have a successful go at it? And what all would I need? Just an emulator and the Halo cd?

Running Halo from an emulator is not the same as porting it to linux.
    anyway, check out vmware.

    vmware or bochs...

and more on the porting, they mean it can't be ported because it probably relies on some things that just can't be done outside of windows...therefore the code can't just be recompiled for linux.
    PHP and XML
    Let's talk about SAX

also, people forget that Halo is DirectX, and there has yet to be an all inclusive DirectX port to Linux(WineX tried doing this, but they only have support for certain games like Half-life and Morrowind).

Yeah, I didn't mean actually changing the code. I was talking about using an emulator. Eve hit the nail on the head. I heard on a site that Halo uses DirectX which isn't supported by WineX. I don't really know if it can be done or not.

even if it was written using openGL, wouldn't it be hard to port?
