    > because the source file could not be read
    Says it all really
Is it an HTTP transfer or an FTP transfer?

If its FTP, are you set up for anonymous FTP
Have you tried a real FTP program rather than the one embedded in the browser

Care to mention the site, to see if anyone else here can get the file, or has a similar experience to you

Have you contacted the site owner, if you have no problem getting files from elsewhere, maybe the site is at fault.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

I got it figured it out. it seemed it was a problem with netscape. I was attempting to download from various sites so it wasn't just one site. I reinstalled netscape thats all. Thanks. hopefully someone else will get some help from this.
