there is a way to stop pop ups that come via messenger on windows. you go to the start menu>run and then type something which will allow you to turn messenger off so you don't get these popups from it, does anyone remember?

start---programs---admin tools---services---messegnger = stop/disable

Install a firewall! If messenger messages can get through, your computer is severely vulnerable and is likely to be already infected.
