    Cygwin / X-win32

I recently downloaded cygwin, and have one question.

Is there any way to run a windows manager such as kde, or gnome using cygwin, or x-win32.

    Thanks

i dont think you can through cygwin...cygwin is only for console tools iirc. like i use it for gcc/g++ for gaim, never encountered anything for window managers..

    x-win32 i don't know about.

    Thanks for the help.

But I want to do something like this.

    http://xfree86.cygwin.com/screenshot...31224-0010.png

    It says:
Cygwin/X logged into a Debian Linux machine running KDE 3.1 via XDMCP.

    regarding that screenshot.

Hmmmm, well, without looking too far into it I would think that after you have X support for Cygwin it's just a matter of compiling either Gnome or KDE for it and then using it like you would a normal Linux system. But I'm not positive on that one.... Cygwin certainly isn't your "every day" Linux.
