Make sure sound card is configured with Linux. Make sure volume is up and not on mute. Check cords

What distro are you running?
"When I die I want to pass peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did, not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car."
the fact that you can play MP3's but not audio CD's suggests that you need to connect your CD-ROM drive to the sound card.
no i had the same problem, open up oss or alsa, whichever you're using, and you have to modify the volume for cd output, i had the same problem with Mandrake.
PHP and XML
Let's talk about SAX
then I guess you already have a cable connecting your CD-ROM drive to the sound card.Originally posted by Waldo2k2

I use kmix and aumix on PCLinuxOS. Just type them at the command line and voilla.
