    .AVI troubles

Im having a problem with playing .avi movies with my Divx or Winamp3 players. They play in WMP but they are of very poor quality and the sound skips ahead of the video. Im running Win98. any help would be appreciated.

    thanks in advance!

Is this a system spec issue? I played a divx on a 500mhz celeron, and it did the same thing. I had a friend who had desynced audio for a game trailer when he used to have an 800mhz cpu.

    What are your system specs?
(cpu, ram, and vid card is all we need really for now)

Update sound and video drivers. Reinstall all Divx/AVI program codecs/software, etc. Make sure you uninstall everything relating to your problem before reinstalling. Restart your computer a few times throughout the process also.

I showed an on-line friend of mine this thread of yours, and he said, "Yeah, sounds like 'puter's too slow." ...and he is generally, well, always right.

What's the clock speed on that CPU chip of yours? FYI, the Toy Story 2 Divx AVI is dog slow on a 500mhz Celeron 256 PC133 RAM machine running Windows XP home.
