the readme files for both Linux and FreeBSD says to edit the OGL environment settings to turn on antialiasing, and I was wondering how do I edit the environment settings? Is it saying I have to recompile the games and glEnable() some stuff?

I guess it's somewhere in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Nope. It gives all kinds of settings for the XF86Config file, and then it says "For antialiasing, enable blah blah in your OpenGL environment settings"
That instruction reaks of software specific options. Its probablly dependant on each particular piece of software that you use. Only major software like xfree and a few engines will support this at compile time, or even offer an option period. I dont recall ever seeing a global setting anywhere for that. And now for something completely different: Nvidia drivers suck. plain and simple suck. The ones that come with my beloved freebsd suck, the ones that nvidia makes suck just as hard, which left me to use 3rd party drivers for my geforce 4 440 go card. Thats in a laptop, and im forced to use that vid card. I have never had a problem with a nice ATI radeon card and bsd, but nvidia just seems to be software deficient. But thats just my 2 cents. (Note the Xbox2's future, not even msft will touch nvidia anymore) I know it wasnt too helpful, but at least ur not alone in this.
There's a new nvidia driver package for Linux...

If and ONLY IF you can get it to work properly and not cause panics left and right because the drivers blow =POriginally posted by frenchfry164
nVidia + OpenGL = awesomeness
ATI + OpenGL = kinda coolness
I've used nVidia's Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD drivers and never had a single problem. I can't wait until a GUI for the driver settings comes out like the Windows driver does.
Ever try to get the GO chipset for the Geforce 4 440 work right with bsd? Especially at weird resolutions like 1400x1050? There in lies my problem with their drivers. I have had endless problems with them. If they work for you, great, but i question their stability.
