I just got the Voodoo 2 12mb 3d card for PCI slot. In the manual it tells you to connect the 3d card to the VGA card with a cable.. Now, my VGA card is ONBOARD, I mean it's in-built on the motherboard so I cannot connect anything. Any ideas on how to install it in that case?
You need to get the card made for it (starts with an S), and install that in another PCI slot and disable onboard video. For the money you will spend to do this you can do much better.
I searched in BIOS but didnt find anything that DISABLES onboard card.. btw, my pc only has 2 PCI slots and one of them has got the network card and the other one the 3d card so there isn't a reason for buying that 'S' card you're talking about..
That card is the clarifyer and i dont think that voodoo will run without it.
You need a pass through cable to use both the V2 and onboard at the same time (look here). The cable you're thinking of looks like a floppy drive cable, that's used for SLI (Scan Line Interleave) with 2 VooDoo 2 cards. The pass through cable looks more like a standard VGA cable except for the obvious fact it's designed to go from one card to the other instead of from one card straight to the monitor
Now... there is ONE that I found on e-bay. It's been up for auction for not even 2 days and it already has 2 bids! You may want to look around a bit, but you're dealing with pretty old stuff here and may not be able to find it anywhere else. Stay on top of this auction, and good luck!
