    MSN Messenger Opening Up

How the hell do you turn off the MSN Messenger from opening up whenever I go to msn.com ? It sticks there until I exit all IE windows and then close it.
It also bothers me that websites can literally call the damn programs from my harddrive. What if they call the wrong program at the wrong time ? Is there a thing to switch it off?

I think that might just be Microsoft "magic."

Try uninstalling MSN messenger, unless of crouse, you need it. It might take more than just an uninstall... find the files and delete them.
    Away.

Kill it in the process list, and then, whilst it's dead, delete it's directory. Does the trick rather well....

blackrat364: You can't uninstall Microsoft Messenger without special tools (Microsoft really don't want you to get rid of it), so the above is the easiest way to do it.

Yeah, that's the same treatment I had to give to Kazaa and
McAffe... I really had a war with McAffee .. it even got in the memory in the safe mode.. so i started deleting the unopened dlls, one by one, and restarted again and again, until it was dead.

To delete the messanger and get rid of a bunch of other Windows XP "features" use XP-AntiSpy . If the frame below doesnt load right click and click refresh.
