    Ethernet Adapter & Network Card

    What is the difference between Ethernet Adapter and Network Card ?

    All I know is that the one above uses USB and ther other goes
    into the slot.


    But is there a basic difference between an Ethernet Adapter
    and Network card, in terms of functionality, et al ?

    There is no difference. One is a PCMCIA NIC, the other is just an external USB NIC. Ethernet Adapter, Network Card, NIC are all interchangable.

    There is a very big difference indeed!!

    Primarily it lies in the spelling of the words and what is printed on the products packaging.
