It's a pop-up advert, surely you have seen them before?

not through console. i was getting them on messenger (net send) but i disabled it, is there a way to disable this one?
Sorry for delayed reply, been on vacation.
I think its actually a pop-up ad, not anything from messenger. If you look, the title has '- Microsoft Internet Explorer' on the end.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

yea i know its not messenger and that its an ad, but what service are they using so i can disable it? I keep getting them and its rlly crappy to have half life killed for a damn ad.

It's a web page you dufus It's just an IE window showing you a jpg of a static console image. To disable this, uninstall IE or something

I can't believe you fell for it...

You sound just like my parents, they always click on the ads on the websites that look like popup windows (but you can tell easily that they aren't). My dad even clicked on one while he was using Linux one time!
The push button should've gave it all away.
