how m i ever going to format this thing

So ive got myself that dell latitude cpt , evrythiing works great BUT. Windoze millenium is installed on it and ill take anything but millenium so i want to format it and install win 98 SE.

This laptop is buiilt like this u have some kind of slot where you can put in a cd-rom or a floppy drive (watch the OR).
So i figured that if i format it then take a startupdisk put it in the floppy drive and choose the option with cd-rom, then the laptop is reading from the floppy BUT in the meanwhile hes trying to detect the cd-rom wiich isnt there coz i cant have both in it.

So i figured i mighgt take an external floppy drive on a paralel port BUT since when in windoz millenium the comp doesnt sees the floppy drive i dont think hes gonne see it when im just bootinig up:::i alrdy tried to boot up with disk in floppy drive on paralell port but he didnt said anything, therefor i can tell that it doesnt recognizes that floppy on a paralell port.

Anyone ever had the same problem i have?

Alrightie then im back but ive got some doubts...
I did everything as you said (its a bootbale cd-rom, but theres a scratch on the cd-rom... so IF i start installing win 98 SE theres no way in turning back.. unless i backup all the files... (wich i hope will work).

And ...yeah well aah dammit ill just try gotta take a chance, so here i go, (actually surprising with someone else comp i would just say cmon lets get it over with but hmm damn me , with myself-centered egoistic mind) .. well
Thx anyway salem thx for the replay, i knew that was possible but i didnt took the time to figger out how taht i went into the bios ... was some stupid key somewhere layed out on the, ah well i could just say it, on the damn qwerty keyboard its driving me crazy.
