Angry Two questions about "helpful options"

I am having major trouble with "user friendly options" in Microsoft products. One time I accidentialy held down shift for too long, and a window poped up asking if i wanted filterkeys turned on. I clicked cancel, but after that, the keyboard acts up. When I type a @, all letters are automaticaly capital, unless i hit caps lock, when they become lowercase. Hitting the tab key in web apps causes the cursor to move up the boxes, not down.

Also, in Works spreadsheet, i had a colum of data that would change from say, 1/4/2, to NONE, to 0. I saved it, closed it, then the next day I opened it and all the boxes were changed either to random data or dates, or, invalid date. How do i set it to no autocomplete?
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
    Dream: linux, mandrake, then slackware.

Start -> Control Panel -> Accessibility Options -> Keyboard Tab -> empty all those checkboxes and click ok.
    Away.

Read the instructions-or should I say to you help files?

Jesus these are added features that some people come to rely on. It is not the softwares problem that YOU dont know how to use it! Read the help files or something.

Windows-whine whine-windows-whine whine. I bet your explorer still crashes too huh? Oh no, wait that post was a different story. Dont moan much about Linux problems do we? You think Linux users live long, prosperous, trouble free lives? Think again.

Sorry folks, my two shillings there. I DO like XP (guessed that one huh?), YES it has niggles etc, but is VERY stable amd reliable......Somebody PLEASE tell me that there is a better non M/S O/S out there.....c'mon please tell me which O/S is gonna replace my XP....

...then I can tell Windoze.... He will not be bothered about compatibility/stability/upgradeability etc-just that it is not called Windows.
    Such is life.

Its all about the speed baby! AMD 1800 on win3.1. No Windows OS runs faster! No OS with GUI will run faster!

Well, at least you are not slagging off something you paid for!

    That is the way forward!

I think I would love XP too, if I didn't have to pay for it. Gotta love open source/Free OS's. 3.1 is a joke by the way, lol, i still have a packard bell 100mhz pentium 1 running 3.1. It is fast though, I will admit that. There's nothing to it.

Wasnt a 'really' good joke though huh?

Point is..........I am still sick of ppl slagging off something that is stable/works.........and that they have PAID for!

Only a tosser would buy something he does not like...then again, they(he/she) MAY not have 'paid' for it, aka all the problems (he/she) has!

    Simplicity in its self....
    Such is life.

There's no OS that is the best. But for reliablity, speed, and handling lots of threads, QNX RTP knocks the socks off of every OS I've used.

Fountain, didn't mean to upset you. I didn't know you were so passionate about winXP. Truth is, most people wont say winXP is a bad thing, i happen to like XP pro and 2k pro. They are stable OS's. you shouldn't think everyone hates winXP, because if that were the truth, it wouldn't be the most used OS around. lol, even though most of those user are illiterate "dell" users. (No offense to those with dells). Some people just think there are other, so called better, options out there. You can't get mad at someone who says their OS is better than XP. Its their opinion, atleast you can get mad, but it doesn't look good toward you.

That is not what I said. And I am not mad! Chill.

Windoze doesnt say he has a better OS than XP-just that it is crap. That, in mine and millions of other ppls opinions is false.

My gripe is that if he thinks it sooooo bad, why the hell buy it? And little niggles are in everything you buy-cars being a prime example..wonder if there is a 'car mat slips occasionally' web site for user 'honda victim' to post at.

This is unless-of course-he does not have an 'official' copy...then you get probs.

Maybe you haven't run across the sticky key problem then yourself.

I've had it happen to me more times that I like. Hit cancel, it stays on. Turn off the options in control panel, no difference.

It's a pain in the ass, and whether some people rely on it or not, something as simple as hitting "cancel" should work.

Yeah, i did not want it, it was bundled in with the computer as a "replacement under warrenty" And as i can see so far, it has been worse than my old 98SE running on Compaq Presario.

I am saying that XP is crap in my opinion. It may work great for some people, but It is horrid for what i like.

I dont know of another truly stable OS, because I havent been able to try many others.
