    It's not a hard-drive problem, I don't think... I think it's a FAT-16 problem. I'm not sure you'll get around it.

Question tho... if you're using linux, why in the hell are you formatting with FAT?? Shouldn't you be using EXT or EXT2?? Maybe I read you wrong tho.

No im not using linux on this one. Its like this the hard drive used to be in a linux comp. Now ive took that out and i need to partition it as FAT16 so i didi that with the rootdisks-bootdisks-cfdisk from linux (because with cfdisk there are about 100 possible partitiontypes).
Anyway i partitioned it first as one partition so one partition FAT16 -- 6 gig.
But in dos it only recognized about 472 Mb. So i figured ill partition the hard drive in 5 partitions of 500 Mb that way i can still use about 2.5 gig out of 6.
But that didnt worked because fdisk wasnt able to recognize the partitions made by Cfdisk. So i had to delete all the existing partitions (made with cfdisk) in order to make one with fdisk.
But the problem is that i can only have 1 partition with fdisk-- with cfdisk u can have about 4/5 partitions.

I know this sounds complicated but it isnt, its just me telling it overcomplicated....i guess. But ill try the cfdisk and fdisk again ..(although im getting bored off this thing)

    I still don't know why you're using FAT16?

sounds like a lot of hassle because you 'like' something.

Question... why do you have to use fdisk after using Cfdisk? If you're formatting with cfdisk, I don't see a need to do anything else.
