I hate that thing because of all the crap it does during bootup, but it works, so you really can't complain.

What does it do (apart from load itself) ? I have it, and haven't noticed anything bad about it.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

It has this scanner program that runs and it searches through your autoexec, config and a bunch of other files on startup.. and I realize that's good and all... and may save some people... but ...

ehh.. I just hate virus scanner software all together. I refuse to use it on my personal computer and I may get screwed by that someday, but at least I have my full resources in the mean time.

You did came quick with your Virus opinion. Slow harddrive's can
have many causes (much carbage, too much pr0n, RoD), What
do you mean with recovering your user profile?

All my porn is on CDRW's....i jumped to virus because i got a few suspicious emails and OE auto-opend them, i'm done with that program. I knew to disable that option but i kept putting it off.

It takes 45 passes of the blue status bar on XP boot, on the first time it will never boot u have to reset, then 45 passes later it loads.

What i mean by recovering the profile is this...When u log into a xp machine, and many other o/s's, it retrieves your data and settings from the profile that is created and updated to your username, individual settings and such. Its how one user has a different setup than another, and it said "We are unable to retrieve your user profile at this time." and loaded the default settings for me.

Now just a minute ago it loaded the profile, i'll try the scanner. If its negative i'll be back lol.

Windows might just became messy, A reinstall is the only
solution. NOTE: When i mean a reinstall, I mean, Delete XP, THEN
    reinstall it

I use that virus scanner also, great scanner but about a few months ago I had a virus and it did not detect it. It was bringing my cpu usage to 100% and god knows what else. In the end I installed norton and it managed to detect and remove the virus from my computer. So if you ever download anything funny and your computer starts acting weird, never hurts to double check by installing another scanner. Otherwise its a great virus scanner, I still use it
