Access denied on W2k admin account

In W2K, I found an (apparently) empty folder for Quicken under Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu.
I went to delete it and the message popped up that it wasn't an empty directory. When I went to open it a message said access denied. I could move it to a different directory, but it won't let me delete or open it, either from GUI or command line. The properties say it's empty.
This was all in an administrator account, btw. I changed all permissions to full control. Any idea why I can't get rid of it? Thanks.

I had this problem on 2k Server one time with another program, heres how i fixed it:

    1) Install the program to the folder you can't delete.

    2) Delete it.

I don't know why your having the problem but this fixed it for me, good luck.

first make sure you have ownership, then make sure you have full security rights to it.

    then delete it.

Even if you are the admin.. you need to have ownership to delete that folder.. Being an admin you can change it.. Right click the folder... Permission.. and give yousr self full access permission and then delete it.. It will work..

Don't know exactly about win2k, but try searching a way to 'chmod' the directory and than delete it.

Not necessarily. Last year our admin gave everyone in my school full access to our folders. As a result, we were all able to ban him from our folders and put whatever we wanted in them. Of course, he could just look up our passwords and change the permissions back. Guess what? He doesn't give us that privelege any more.

I dont think he can look at the password.. But he can change them because the password is stored in an encrypted form and it cannot be got back.. But when you enter the password the password in encrypted and matched with the one in its database... so that is not possible... And he can change permision...

Check the password it will be a little difficult, but in 2 seconds he can change the permissions of the folder and than enter

If we were talking about unix:
    chmod 0 myFolder

haha, like this no one can join, just the root.

Thanks all, I finally managed to delete it. I had to go into the owner tab and check the box "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects", even though the folder was allegedly empty. I'd already enabled full control to every group, and had ownership to begin with.

    No, he can't.
He can delete or change the password, though, or perhaps obtain it via brute force.
