    Question Connection-boards?

Back in school I remeber that we used these
electronic-connection-boards, to connect electrodes and stuff to the LPT-port. Does someone know what these things are called, and where you can get them?

I'm planning to connect a button to it from the kitchen, so that my mum can push on it when the food is on the table! :-)

Easier option, wire up a small circuit with a light, put a push switch on it and a flashing led! Then the LED can go on your monitor and it'll attract your attention. Add a small speaker and stuff aswell if you want sound. Not very expensive.

Can she not just shout you? Do you live in a 120 room mansion or something and the kitchen is like 'in the East wing?'

    severe lazyism.

If your mom is like mine, she'll just shout anyway because she doesn't like new things

    Her next present to you.

A big gong or bell that she can ring.
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

    You don't need a board!

You don't need a board to connect a switch. Just a cable! (Although, some static-shock protection would be a good idea.)You can find some info about programming the ports at www.beyondlogic.org and a shipload of info about the hardware at www.epanorama.net

If you're using WinXP, Win2K, or Win NT, you have to use a kernel mode driver to access the hardware ports. You're OK with Win98.
