    empty battery on Mobo

i posted a thread called 3 long beeps when booting...
now i have a new video card and it still wont work ...
so i thought mayb the bios settings aren't doing its job
so i decided to take out the battery of the Mobo and then insert it again... the only prob is that i cant get the battery of the Mobo because its soldered on it... so i checked the V and mAh of the battery(normally 3.6V and 60 mAh) and now its about 0.1 V and 0.00 mAh so the battery is dead....

i think this is the reason why hes acting so strange.
so now im wondering : do you need a battery in order to let the comp work(without saving the bios settings)

Have you looked what the 3 beeps ment?
The only case i know what the cause the motherboard baterry
was is that it ran for 15 secs and then shutdown again.

no but when i first got the comp everything worked fine after 5 boots it started acting strange thuogh i didnt do anything odd on the comp.
But before i got it the comp had been inactive for more then 4 yearz u can imagine that after a while a comp battery gets drained.
About the beeps the strange thing is that u only get the beeps
when u plug in the cable of the monitor onto the comp so go figure

I'm not sure whether you need the battery or not for the computer to function, obviously the settings wont' be saved and the time will be screwed up constantly, but who needs that?

Have you tried it without the battery? (can you even remove the battery if it's soldered in?)

last night ive took tha battery of the motherboard (hope the mobo isnt damaged by doing this)
if i have time ill try to boot him without the battery but ....then i have to put evrything back in the case hmm if i have time ill try to do it without the battery

But i think u need a battery to let the comp function properly because if the battery is drained(as it alrdy was) then setting arent save and default setting are loaded... But the comp didnt work when the battery was empty but asi said im gonna put the comp back togethere when i have a lil bit time and then ill tell you if it works without a battery

Battery must be in when PC is on. This is becaue the BIOS runs on a seperate power circuit to the rest of the PC. Thats an odd attery though, sounds like an old board type. If you are lucky you'll find one, if not you'll have to make it yourself.

Have you tried the battery on something else already?

nopez BUUUT i have this thing its a meter and it can read till 200ľAh so that almost 1/1000 (i guess) off a mAh and it wont even detect 1ľAh also i checked the Voltage its been hopping from 0.1 to 0.3 sometimes 0.000000000...im desperate (wont throw away mobo for one single battery) because im not convinced (just cant seem to convince myself) that those batterys are still being made

Well apperently the battery is welded to the motherboard
but how about the upper side? is a metal piece pushing against
it? if so you can just add a battery on it and extend the metal
    piece.

Oke this image bolow is the worst demonstration ever, be prepared...

You can buy some small batteries that work out to a max voltage of what you need, don't worry about the amperage. That doesn't matter as long as it is equal to or higher, as it is the battery 'life'.

Go down to the local place that sells soldering irons and they should have some small connectors that you can use to held the batteries together, the button cells just need to be held around the outside so you just need a couple of parts for the ends.

Travis dane => thx for the "image" but i understood it from ur answer that image wasnt exactly needed thx im going to check some shop to get me a new bat

Also the bat mAh has to be the same... siple example wich evryone may try
buy a lamp with 60 mAh then buy a battery of 200 mAh then go and see if the lamp will burn ....
im not a scientist but if theres one thing i know that electricity is a game RESPECT the rules and ull live through it, if u dont ur gonna hurt urself or ur equipment
