    Ctrl+Alt+Del: Secure?

Ok i never really thought bout this before, but on the screen of XP, and i assume it says this on other NT based systems, it says "...key combination helps keep your password secure....".

My question is how does pressing ctrl+alt+del help keep the password secure???

hmmm i think it doenst keeps ur password secure the only thing it does is to make sure that someone is at the comp for instance
    Code:
my cat walks over the key-board and presses some keys
..... incorrect password =>doesnt matter because its not like that that u only get 3 opportunities
    BUT
my cat wont press alt-ctrl-del unless its the one from pinky and the Brain but i think u know wut i mean
its just a stupid thing because commonthink about it
who is so stupid that u cant press alt-ctrl-del if by doing this ur password would be secure everybody would be able to logon on tha comp with that user name....

to make the story short IMO its some kind of ****ty thing that is useless

With newer NT's, when you press CTR-ALT-DEL, it overides running progs...they cant access the logon dialog or keyboard messages to try steel the password

    Lookup GINA on the web

Yeah in NT and some based on NT Os's it has a function..

in windows millenium for example u canby pressing alt-crtl-delete add a new task this way u can explore the whole comp without starting up all the apps

i had to do this thing once with a friend who had some kind of virus (this virus dont ask me the name but anyhow the only thing ugot was the screen of win Me and further on u weren't able to do anythingaccept for....alt-ctrl-del)on his pc and by doing that i was able to run NAV 2003 wich could delete all infected files...
in this case that combo really had a purpose otherwise i dont see the use of it.....

The Ctrl+Alt+Del combination is unrecognicable my other applications than the OS. This eliminates fake login screens.
