howdy,
i had a couple of 7200 rpm fans in my box befroe i went to water, they worked great but they made a lot of noise, along with the 4 case fans and 2 power supply fans. the main reason i went to water was for noise reduction.

i want liquid cuz no one i know has it! My fans are pretty quiet....how much was your LC unit?
howdy,
the complete kit included everything:
2 water blocks
pump
hoses
radiator
2 120mm fans
relay board (this turns the pump on when the PS comes on)
mounting stuff
water additive
thermal paste (artic alumina)
~275.00 + shipping
i got it direct from Swiftec, they took 2 weeks to ship it you could probably get it faster from a dealer.
i got in my box a few minutes ago and moved some stuff around now my temps are CPU0 43c, CPU1 48c.

the kit i am looking at is 99.99, here:

howdy,
yea i looked at some in that range, but none of them would claim to be able to handle dual procs.
the first one i looked at was a thermaltake kit, it looked pretty nice but when i asked them about dual proc's they back peddled pretty fast.
the thing i liked about my dealing with Swiftech was that the owner of the company responded to my questions within a couple of hours and was straight up honest with me as to performance, shipping, installation etc.
Swiftech is a first rate company imho.

if i do get LCooling its a few months off. I plan to run the system with three quiet 80mm case fans, the fan on the duron, fan(s) on the radeon, and possibly two fans on the HDD in some sort of home-made hdd cooler. The psu is 400watt so i'm not too worried, plus i can add my second psu if i have too hehe.
howdy,
my LC uses outside power for the pump, the kit came with a power cord and socket to run external power to the pump. also like i said before it has a relay that turns the pump on when the box comes on. that way i don't have to remember to turn the pump on every time i start the box.
the next thing i am going to add is a flow sensor that conects to one of CPU fan sockets. it monitors water flow in the system, it works just like a fan speed sansor that can be set to shut down the box if the water stops moving.

Hm, hard to tell if your cooler owns mine just looking at it,Quote:

what's it performance? cpu temp? Besides you can't really
compare an XP 2000+ with a Pentium 3 500 can you?
my comp avrg is 158 :P
howdy,
what is "my comp avrg is 158"

Mine is 98F
before i pass this on to its server life i am going to change the mhz clock back to stock so it runs cool.
How far did you clock it then? Are whe still talking about the
P3 500?
ya the p3 500;
it changes on every boot, its always between 600 and 650, usually closer to 650. As for why it flux's, its kinda odd. See its a 440BX from Dell, so they tried to lock the multiplier. Well they succeeded for the most part, and every now and then the FSB lower or raises as it tries to lock back at stock.
