I agree, i've been promoting Phoenix since someone showed it to me awhile back. I'm pretty sure it has an automatic popup killer too.

I like opera. Espesially the multiple windows inside.
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
    Dream: linux, mandrake, then slackware.

Or you could just download a tiny freeware called 'popup go away' and have the same effect on IE

IE IS nice. I know I always seem to hate the M/S bashers (with good reason), but this time I know there have been security issues.

The advantage M/S has is they have the cash to GET the updates out there for you to download.

And as M/S have such a saturation in the market place, more people will try and hack IE6 than anything else. Simple maths.

Hmmm moaning aside, IE6 is stable and as quick as your connection will allow-who needs more?
    Such is life.

general HTML code is refer to the IE browser. sometimes you might get some problem if you are using different browser. yeah it's true.

Sorry, but I just have to say that that is incorrect. There isn't any HTML anywhere that can only work in IE. Because once a page deviates from the W3C standard it can no longer be said to be written in proper html.

    @ beeley

IE is merely interpreting the same things as any other browser, its not a question of certain html being ie specific..

No, its not the HTML, but Beeley has a point when you look at other proprietory web content like ActiveX.....used a hell of a lot on the web and as far as I know only IE implements it (well I know opera doesnt anyway).....

I'm with other guy; I dont wanna have to install something else so i'll make do with IE. Same really goes with Linux. I might never get around to installing becuase it'll take me a full day to format windows (if im installing linux i wanna do that), reinstall all my software, make a partition for linux, install linux...thats a whole day.

Well face, I just have to say that if that is how you feel about installing software, maybe you should just stick with microsoft products.

i personally NEVER liked ms and try to avoid ALL the softwares that comes from them. Because i have to use windows(that's the only os i know how to use) i use what comes with it(IIS, IE, MSN).

it's a sad thing that i have to use access to edit my db files because i don't have SQL server.

other then that i don;t think i use anyting from MS, i'm a corel and macromedia guy..
oh i'm sorry! i didn;t realize my fist was rushing to meet ur face!

I use Mozilla under Linux (and when I use Windows, I use Mozilla... and if I'm on a mac with admin privelages, I install it!). It is the best browser around (it's underlying engine, that is: gecko).

It has all of the features mentioned that Opera and IE can do: pop-up blocking, tab-browsing, MOUSE GUESTURES (<edited out sad use of foul langage>), other Javascript blocks (prevent pages from resizing windows or minimizing windows), plus it has support for Themes (Orbit 3 + 1 is great) and has as little or as much extra stuff as you want (email, WYSIWYG html editor, IRC chat client...)

Plus Mozilla actually adheres to HTML standards whereas IE does NOT. For an example, go to www.neurotikfusion.com in IE and then in Mozilla. Unless my friend changed it, it won't render properly in IE but will in Mozilla - and he uses standard HTML code (although I havn't examined it myself, I'm just taking his word for it)

It's true that Mozilla won't render some pages properly, but that is entirely because those pages don't adhere to standard HTML and use IE-specific code. Mozilla has fixed nearly all rendering issues, however.
