Umm I guess it is comp related..
I bought a new DVD top of range thing that plays MPEGS and VCD MP3 blah blah.
So...you may ask what is up!
Why will it only play certain discs that I have?
How can I make it play all my MPEGS/VCD's etc. Damn, I am so behind the times!

I burnt a dvd cd..I burnt mpeg music videos with a regular cd r drive on a cd r cd. It works on my computer's dvd player and recognizes it fine(through dvd playing software)..it just doesn't work on my normal dvd player(for the tv) because that player sucks.

i too think it's dumb that i can make a cd, and play it on a cd-player that was one of hte original ones to ever come out.. but my almost brand new dvd player can't read a cd-r or rw. yet this ancient cd-player can... stupid people why do they have to be so cautious about security.. Us programmers will eventually find a way around it.

Doesnt matter now folks-I sussed out that Nero can convert them all into VCD anyway. Thus my DVD player says 'thats cool, I will play that one'

I think they sell CD+R and DVD+R - those are the compatible types with older CD and DVD players.
the CD-R and DVD-R don't support older players.

I think you have it the other way around. I know that cd-r will run on a normal cd player
