No they aren't. I'm not calling u an idiot, but there is not an auto defragment of this kind in Windows XP. There is a better "record keeping" method to xp, but in no way is it automatic defragment. There is, however, a "sort of" auto defrag in windows. It sees what dlls and other files programs use in the first 10 seconds and moves them all on the same spot of the hard drive. Always link your files in the beginning of the program.Originally posted by Tommaso
With WindowsXP you do not have to defrag as this is done automatically as files are saved or transfered.

thanks for clearing that up ROD.
it did sound too good to be true....almost impossible, your computer would constantly be grinding on the HD.

no prob. I wouldn't know if a background all the time defrag is impossible, but i'd say its pointless.
I meant, what are some good defragers that are free dl?
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.
Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
