Had that thought myself.
That's what I've done this far. But it takes me approximately two and a half minute from pushing that button, to being able to write down what I've been dreaming about in WordPad.
That's precious time, you (or at least I) am/are still in a kind of a dream state (still thinks what you've dreamt might be true, remembering details etc.), which has faded alot after those two and that half minute.
What I really want is to shorten this time from awakeining to start writing down as much as possible, so other suggestions (for example, this schedule-thing) are welcome.
Running your computer's negative and positive power button wires to your alarm clock radio's speaker wires won't work. They won't work for time issues. Your computer has to boot up and that's time for you to wake up hence slowly forgetting the ultra fine details of your dream.
Leaveing a pen and paper beside your bed was the best suggestion possible. Literally. I mean, even IF your pc was right beside your bed, or was a laptop, either way, you have to get situated, possibly even get up...just grabbing a pen and paper by extending your arm is the fastest and most effecient method.
The world is waiting. I must leave you now.
So hy not simply disable all the power management options on your computer, and leave it one with wordpad opened when you go to bed. If the light is bothersome, simply turn off the monitor. Then when you get up its there waiting for you.
Use one of those clapper things. The sound from the alarm clock can activate the clapper which will let the power go through to the comp. The only problem would be if the clapper deactivated the power b/c of the extended sound.
maybe you should consider not turning off your computer.
Forget the alarm clock, and place one on the PC, so that at the required time, the PC will sound an alarm.
You could use some kind of system time check ?getTimer(), in a continual loop, and when it hits the alarm time, drop out of loop, sound buzzer until you awake (also could add music files to replace buzzer).
Once awake you hit exit button on app, and wordpad is maximised for you!!
There you have it, done and dusted
No offense squaresilver but you just did some serious gravedigging. Please don't do it again.
