    About LINUX...

    I am using RedHat7.3
My computer is Intel pentium1.6GA MHz
    Geforce 2 Ti
    512MB

But when i use my linux, it doesn't run really smooth.....
For example, when i play the "Chromium" this
game, i can tell that i really cannot play!!
because i nearly cannot move....it feels like a 486 computer have installed WinXP inside...
    Can you imagine?
So any one can tell me how i should set my linux work more smooth and what shall i do?

chromium requires 3d graphics. without it, its framerate is near 1.

I'm not sure about RH, but I remember on my SuSE install somehting about a separate kernel module for nVidia support. Have you patched?

Nvidia's website would be the first place to check for any driver support.

Well if you want to go back to software accel and try again login as root in a text mode console and type yast, or whatever tool redhat uses, and unload the modules. Then you can try again.

yast is Yet Another Setup Tool. just type it in as root. I think it is the setup prog that redhat uses.

That or try sax, and uncheck the use 3d acceleration. In fact, try sax first, as it is simpler.

Really? Neither sax or yast work?

    Try it explicitly:

    /usr/X11R6/bin/SaX2

    See if that helps.
