Updating Drivers corrupted my Windows 10

    Hi!

I used IObit Driver Booster to update 35 drivers on Win10. After that, I noticed that I cannot create system restore points. It displayed an error telling me that my Windows installation is corrupted.

Do you guys think either Driver Booster did something to the system for it to malfunction? Or a specific driver update had a conflict with Windows?

Anyways, I restored Windows to a earlier point using USB boot, and the problem went away, thankfully.

So, now what do I do if I want to update a driver? Cuz I don't know what driver update caused the malfunction (if it was a driver update that did it).

    Thanks!

Do you have a purchased licence from IObit Driver Booster?
If so, that should be your first point of query and complaint.
They seem to make a lot of noise on their website as to how safe their approach is.

Have you tried installing the drivers directly from Windows update, preferably a few at a time?

Does install work in safe mode?

At least you should be free to update any non-essential drivers at will because they won't be active.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I'll try to ask them.

I didn't try to update after this. I usually update via vimut on older versions of Win10. This is the first time I tried to update on Win10 Anniversary edition. Now I'm afraid to update anything on Annivesary Edition. Gonna try to test update on my other Lap.

    Tnx.
