    Visual Studio 2017 RC

    Hey Guys!

I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 RC and it's the first RC version of VS I have ever had - I know a release candidate is not the "final" version of the software, but I am curious to know if any of you have tried it yet, and what your thoughts are.

From what I can tell it seems to function quite well and has the general base languages C++, C# and VB - along with the option to download and install the Unity Engine Suite which is a nice feature. Currently been using Code::Blocks at work and home, but we're going to be upgrading to VS2015 at work in a few months too.

I know they haven't quite beaten VS2008 for start up time (man that was fast booting! ) But it seems quicker than VS2013 used to be.
Nice that Microsoft have FINALLY implemented C99 to the fullest now too.

Yeah, I've tested it - and used it for a while now, mostly for C#. It fixes the annoying issue where the IDE hangs when terminating a debug session in C#. And obviously it implements more C++ stuff - all good. The installer is smoother and--from what I hear--no more registry stuff, so installing and uninstalling it becomes easier now. Traditionally, if the installer failed, you would be doomed because neither installer nor uninstaller would then work because of all the registry stuff. All in all, good stuff.
