cboard works for IE only ...

I don't know where to post this so you can move this thread.

IE is the only one that works and I am not happy. You all should know by now that this web-site will not display properly in "ANY" web browser except Internet Explorer. I have all the screenshots... Just show me how to send them and I will.

It's a sad world when a great forum like this jump ship for a back-stabbing web browser like IE. IE defied the W3C standard DOM and others. What ever you were using the day I join this forum is what you should go back too.

Edit because I have no business pointing the finger that hard when I may be the only one that see or have the problem. Sorry about that

I use this board in Firefox all the time. (EDIT: I fear I am feeding a troll, but just in case.)

Boy, do I have news for you. I have Firefox and IE open to your thread and notice nothing. Please give your user agent, and perhaps describe the problem. No one is psychic.

Isn't it obvious? Microsoft offered the webmaster the most money to drop support for other browsers. It's not cboard your tirade should be levelled against, it's the tight-fistedness of whoever runs the Mozilla/Chrome/WebKit projects.

Well it's good to know it works for others and may not be cboard fault. My question should have been "What do you get" but I did not think of that first. All I seen for the pass few months is bad web-page rendering when i come here or at a few other places where only IE would work. It's like no browser can render pages correctly other than IE and most people build website under IE and never learn that it don't work for other web-browsers.

Tell me how to post my screenshots and see for yourself what I been getting under the new FireFox, Opera and the last Netscape-9. This could have an effect on thousands of others, users and cboard may never had a clue.

Never use the word troll with me. I have the proof and I post only because I care for this place. Again, how do I post the zipped screenshots. They are in .rtf format. This was my time I wasted to get to the bottom of this.

If you want to post your screenshots, don't zip them. Take the screenshot, open up Paint, paste it in, crop if you want, then save it as a .png. To add a .png click on "Go Advanced" at the bottom-right of the box, then scroll down to attachments.

It tell me "Click Add Files to upload new files or select from existing files below". This is under IE-7 and when I click it, it takes me no where. So I tried Netscape and the donut arrow next to the blue question-mark never stops.

Kind of funny to "Manage Attachments" before you can find where to attach anything... This just is not my day.

Anyway since everyone say all browsers are rendering perfectly, I will not argue. I'll just re-install XP and all of its programs. If you want to see the screen shots give me an e-mail address, I'll e-mail them to you and you can post them and do the math. If what you say is true, you are not going to believe your eyes once you see these screen-shot. Also if someone do send me an e-mail here with a place to up-load these files, you are going to want to see it in .rtf. PNG looks very hard to read if expanded.

Over the years I've visited the forum in Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Android browser, PSP browser, and probably a few others. Basically everything except IE. They all work fine.

I have the same experience as cyberfish. The only problem I've seen is that in a recent chromium update the "Reply With Quote" link doesn't work properly.
Clicking once just shows that spinning wait animation but the text never gets copied to the quick reply box. Clicking it again opens the advanced editor where the quoted text shows up properly.
But this happens on all VB4 forums so it's not specific to cboard.

I've only ever used firefox here. I'm reasonably confident I would have noticed if there was a problem.

Pages in the forum do rely on content from a number of sites in the cprogramming.com domain. Occasionally one or other of those sites (if sites they are) are apparently down, and a symptom of that is incorrect rendering of the page. However, that sort of thing is both browser independent and easily explainable.
Right 98% of the time, and don't care about the other 3%.

If I seem grumpy or unhelpful in reply to you, or tell you you need to demonstrate more effort before you can expect help, it is likely you deserve it. Suck it up, Buttercup, and read this, this, and this before posting again.

IE, FF and mozilla derivatives Icecat and Epiphany, Safari and mobile Safari all work fine for me.

I just posted this from lynx, however, and the interface is awkward and seems to be missing some features that way

To be fair, there's a forum that uses phpBB and for a long time I could not use it in firefox because most of the buttons did not appear. I reported that, but no one else -- even people using the same version on the same OS -- had any problem. Which seemed very strange because I had the same problem on two different computers. For more than a year, whenever I needed to use that forum I'd have to use epiphany, icecat, or IE.

I'm not sure what my problem is. After I posted, a few hours latter, things was looking good in all three - Netscape-9.0, Opera-9, Opera-11 and FireFox.

Font's could have been a problem with the frames or what ever browsers use. I always permanently increase my fonts to 14 or 16pt in all browsers except IE where I have to click in a stroll to temporally enlarge (could be I know no better). Most people build and test sites using only in one browser. I know I did once and all was not well in others. _Mike mention "VB4 forums". So this a modern forum program. I think that's the problem. Maybe it can be adjusted by administrators because as I just said, even right now, everything looks perfect in all browsers like it did this past winter when I lived here 24/7 trying to get a clue. So my standard font change never been the issue like I was beginning to think. "VB4 forums" do look great for cBoard but most of the old ones were perfect everywhere. I seen a few new ones springing up lately, that give you more user namespace on the left side and a cell phone sized space to do your question and answer. Something like google who now have advertizement on both sides if you turn on javascript and everything. Imagine, you got the far right row to write and read in. As we ALL goes blind, they call it progress while I point the finger in the wrong direction. Anyway, here is what I got the day I posted this thread... You can see it below if I'm using attachment correctly. If not, no big deal...
