I'm trying to follow the tutorial as i am just a beginner to programming. I did not find any categories when i tried to start my new project. It seems that in the tutorial it is already in the file. Can someone explain what i am doing wrong?

Are you serious? With the description you gave we would have to be clairvoyant or sitting at your computer. In order to get any help you will need to tell us a wee bit more. Like what programming language are you trying to learn. What operating system, compiler? Possibly some kind of link to the tutorial you found somewhere.

Maybe you are referring to which type of project? I recommend "Console" or something like that to start with.
