What do i need network wise?

    Hello,

I have been having some fun toying with my home network. Currently I have purchased a domain name and want to setup a home network. Basically I want to setup some subdomains so that when they are connected to, they will be routed to the proper internal machine. Is this even possible, if so what technology should I be looking at? Here is a "picture" of what I'm wanting to achieve. Keep in mind I only have one external IP provided to me by my ISP.

"Telnet MachineA.Test.com" -----> External IP----> Redirect data to proper internal IP based on domain.
"Telnet MachineB.Test.com" -----> External IP----> Redirect data to proper internal ip based on domain.

Internally I have this type of setup Internet ----> One IP ---> Modem ---> Router ---> 5 computers on LAN.

Not possible if you only have 1 IP address. Domain names are mapped to IP addresses, so all your subdomains would have to be mapped to the same IP.

You could map subdomains to all your computers without any problems within your LAN, but from the internet side it wouldn't work.
A workaround of sorts could be to have an ssh gateway, which is within the lan, which you connect to from the internet and from there chain-connect to the computer you want.

Btw, have you asked your ISP if they maybe could give you some extra addresses? My ISP also officially only give out 1 ip (unless you want to pay extra) but if you ask them nicely they'll give you a few more
