2x Nvidia Geforce 9800GT SLI vs. Nvidia GTX 260

    Hello.

Well, I'm thinking about selling both my Geforce 9800GT and buy a GTX 260, for power consumption reasons and other reasons.
Now, is a GTX 260 as good as 2x Geforce 9800GT GPUs?
    here are links:

    GeForce GTX 260
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT: supercharge your graphics horsepower with this GPU at the perfect price and performance combination.

I tried looking at the specifications, but I don't understand all of it... Still, to me it looked like the Geforce 9800GT was better than the GTX 260...
    You peeps got any advice?
    Thanks in advance.

Depending on the game, it could perform better or worse. Some games utilize SLI well while others don't utilize it at all. If you can see good reasons to make the change, any potential performance loss should be so small that it isn't worth changing your mind. Overall the 9800 GT SLI configuration might yield a 3-4% performance gain.

The 9800GT is pretty much a rebranded 8800GT, and back when the GT200 was first released, i remember the 9800GX2 (basically 2x 8800GT) matching the GTX280 in most games, so my guess is that the 9800GTs will be abit faster than a single GTX260, although not in ALL games.

But SLI has alot of annoying limitations, if you can, try to avoid SLI, if i were you i'd get a GTX275, beats the GTX280 hands down. (that naming scheme is getting odder and odder each day)

well, I have to think about that after summer I'll be off to collage, meaning I won't use my gaming PC much but by a school laptop instead xP
But I believe that money was made for spending not saving, so I might buy a new GPU just for the awesomeness...
And it's you money-savers who are at fault for the money crisis hurting the world right now!
