    effective hardware resources management

    Hello All,
I maintain a set of servers running Windows, Linux, Solaris. Few machines are used frequently while most are rarely used.

I need to identify different ways in which resource utilization can be maximized, power consumption be reduced. Also need to increase availability.

Any ideas or suggestions on this?

    Thanks.

Obvious one would be "virtualization". Perhaps Xen would be for you? Welcome to xen.org, home of the XenŽ hypervisor, the powerful open source industry standard for virtualization. - I think there is still some of the code I wrote in production...
