    ipod touch

I was considering getting an ipod touch because they look pretty cool. I thought it would be even cooler to develop for it until I learned that you needed a mac and had to use obj-c. Anyways, is there any other way to program for this? IpodLinux doesn't look like there going to ever support this.

Nope - a Mac with Objective C is how it's done.
Mainframe assembler programmer by trade. C coder when I can.

Doesn't support the touch, though. Apple has been encrypting their firmware for all their recent ipods (ipod nano first gen is about the last ipod with an unencrypted firmware).

Why!? That's stupid, more people would buy them if they could be changed. But then again, it does void the warranty.

Because it is Apple. Either you take their product their way or you go home.
