You wrote a C program that produced this error?

true.. sometimes it generates this error and sometimes it doesn;t
I think the error comes from the conditional, line 15. Check it.
I just don't know what that error means in general
It probably means that rm could not find the files (or directories) specified and thus could not remove them.

1/ If this is an error displayed by your program, the answer is I don't know as there is not a single line of your code,I just don't know what that error means in general
2/ If this is due to your environment, there's a lack of information again
(describe your operations when it works and when it doesn't as requested before). Did you check a possible conflict with your shell or
something like that (looking for the native rm command for instance)?
If the problem falls in the second category, I would suggest to ask in
a more appropriate board/forum specific to your environment.
Incidentally, I have moved this to the Tech board since it apparently has nothing to do with C.

thank you for moving it.. if it can't find a file to be removed.. shouldn't it just doesn't display anything?
No, since the convention is to display nothing if everything went well.thank you for moving it.. if it can't find a file to be removed.. shouldn't it just doesn't display anything?

so if it doesn't find the file to be removed it gives this error?
Yes, or some other error message dependent on which rm it is.so if it doesn't find the file to be removed it gives this error?
