I was wondering how you would combine two partitions into one. I don't like having a partition on my hard drive. Do you need special software to do it?

There is very basic disk management options under Control Panel->Admin Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management.
If you delete one partition, it may be able to reclaim the unused space into your primary partition (I can't recall for sure). Normally I use Partition Magic, which is generally a very good piece of software. There are other partition managers out there however, some of them even freeware.

Yes, deleting a partition can be done to combine, but what happenes if that partition has some data in it. It is, to me movd to a different partition and then delete it and then combine it back again?

Just get Partition Magic if you have any type of even remotely serious repartitioning to do. It can combine two partitions and many other useful things.

If you got Windows Vista you can do it with the inbuilt disk management utility.
Start->Computer->Right Click->Manage

Ah well, I haven't used anything afterwards. It's probably that Vista writes something into the disk when it partitions it, probably a few KB and Partition Magic probably doesn't know how to deal with that.
