I have this book called Beginning Direct3D game programming...it handles much of the basics, but it only covers the ommonfiles =)

Read the SDK Documentations..i will cover a lot =)

I was sitting and trying to use the ANSI.SYS file, it worked fine..but I had to make a .bat file to use it, and start it everytime im in DOS =(
