Yes, of course I looked. And I actually also found the thread you're pointing me to here.
But how should this thread help me?
See - I'm NOT trying to do syntax hilighting here, nor anything...
Well there must be a way to write colored text into a rich edit that stays colored ;) I saw it often enough. Maybe this attempt by me is completely the wrong direction; then I'd appreciate a hint for...
Okay okay, if I ask too much, tell me so *g* but understand it more as a compliment, if here weren't so many peeps who actually can HELP, I wouldn't ask that much :D
well anyway, here's my next...
Well it's no Dialog, it's a normal Window.
The subclassing iself works fine, as I said... and if it will 'bing' everytime, fine, it's not a problem either, but if someone knows a possibility to...
Erm yeah I know there's plenty topics about subclassing... I read em, but I still don't know why my subclassed edit plays that sound.
- The editproc function checks if <return> is pressed and if...
Hi
I subclassed an Edit control to get notified if the user presses return in it. This so far works fine, but everytime I type something in the edit and press return, it plays the window standard...
Well that may have been a possibility, I found out how to give the modal dialogbox a taskbar entry, tho. Just use the extended Window style "EX_APPWINDOW" on the Dialog.
:)
Well I also have a Dialog as main window, but a modal one. Now I want it to be listed in the taskbar like a normal window. Is that possible?
Sorry I posted this twice. I thing an own topic for it...
I got it!
The solution: Subclassing! :D
if anyone needs that, too, I'll post a link to a cool Tut that helped me.

And the suggestions of this thread...

Yeah it works, thanks a lot!
BTW, not only FD_READ sends the socket nr. as its wParam, every FD_... Message does! That way, I can also see which client disconnects etc.!
Again, thanks :D
Thanks for the advice with the wParam of FD_READ, let's see how far this brings me :D
well I'm planning to do a simple multiplayer text-only game so there's no time critical stuff going to be.
...
well the answer is, because batch files are translated before processing.
In the beginning, the environment variable %a% is empty, so the very first execution of the set-command would be run like...

Well thanks for the advice!
I know now I have to fill a fd_set struct with all the client's sockets...

Heya.
I managed to do a simple client-server-chat thingie... now I'm trying to make it for several clients at once (5 to begin with... mebbe more later when I get it to work!)
well my...
well I "solved" the problem by making hFont global, creating the font using the function I showed u without the DeleteObject() and deleting it finally during the processing of the WM_DESTROY...
None is "better", I would say. It's a matter of taste which u use. And ur second Thread was kinda unneccesary ;) ;)
Hey, many thanks!! I'll try that out :D
