That's not what I meant.
"Do you want to write an entire article about const correctness to supply a link to while the only thing linking to it as char* to const char* correction?"
Or in other...
I changed it to "one way of doing it the correct way" instead. Perhaps that's more to your tastes?
Do you want to write an entire const correctness article for fixing char* when it should be...
Another one:
http://cpwiki.sourceforge.net/Common_mistakes_and_errors
I'm sure there's lots to add there. Feel free.
But how's the move coming?
Yes, hopefully it will go smooth :)
Also, mats contributed with two of them and also helped redesign the virtual memory page, so now it's verified!
If anyone keeps an eye on the wiki, a slew of new articles has appeared recently:
Implicit main
Buffer overrun was updated
Performance and optimization
Undefined behavior
And
Virtual Memory has...
I just had a go at A pointer on pointers article.
It's probably full of errors and such. Criticism needed and probably some editors, as well...
I'm just giving heads up that I aired a buffer overrun article. Have a look if you want.
And btw, sourceforge is still slow after all this time. I don't think it's going to improve.
It's up. It's just experiencing some problems with the current server.
Aww, bohoo, I thought I could get away with it :) Let's just pretend I don't know how to spell it correctly! :p
OK on a serious note, I understand. I will use "latter" on this forum next time :)
...
It's such a small thing, I doubt it will ever matter to people.
I know, but it sounds stupid with "latter" to me so I always use "later."
I think now is a good time to ask this:
For what purpose is the wiki intended? To explain or cover in-depth material such as how to properly indent or to simply explain what indentation is?
Citizen...
I believe I worded it wrong.
I meant the indentation article (main one) leaves a lot to be desired.
The other articles are fine :) We're coming along fine.
Confusing in that we have two...
I've just had a look over the "main" indentation article and it seems... well, horrible. At least compared to my own in the sense that it just shows an example of poor indentation, indents it...
Thanks for the suggestion.
Though I'm not sure on how you want the layout changed.
A note that consistency is very important? Keep all the examples consistent?
I love feedback and suggestions and...
I'm not 100% sure I can do that. I feel mostly that my own wiki entry has all that is needed and that the "main" does not contribute anything to my own. This is mostly why I asked which one should be...
It's difficult to do this. I feel the "main" one is lacking and isn't updated very often, so I've been carefully linking to my draft. I especially want to find out if newbies find one or the other...
Does anyone actually read this http://cpwiki.sourceforge.net/User_talk:Elysia/Indentation?
The question still remains which article would be preferred to be used as indentation faq, and whether it's...
It's not that bad. I don't think it fits 100% with the layout, however.
Still, it's better than nothing, so good work!
Now, I'll ask a question.
I want to know the opinions of which article about indentation is the better one:
http://cpwiki.sourceforge.net/Indentation
or...
Yes, it seems slow to me too.
And gee, the discussion pages for the wiki is absolutely horrible. In no way is it actually usable IMO.
Otherwise I don't see a problem.
I still do not agree with how you just edited and deleted everything that was there before, but whatever.
I absorbed your criticism and rewrote the draft.
Of course, I wrote it in Word and it can't...
I absolutely protest. I gave advice that coding styles was relative to each one and in no way did I demand or say that someone should use the advice I gave, but simply to keep it in mind.
It's not...
Good idea. I don't know if it's possible to remove pages from the wiki, though. Perhaps someone with more administrative powers can do so.
