Threads stay marked read in here with only a few exceptions which I always attribute to bugs in the code. vB doesn't have cookie based read history.

vB was just starting then. It was a novelty and quiet an attractive one. With them not sure where it would lead business-wise, it doesn't surprise me that at that time they would issue lifetime...
