Our community of Atari Jaguar enthusiasts would like to look into getting some bids to have tools developed to convert DOOM or DOOM engine usable wads from the Jaguar format to PC to back again and vice versa.

Currently our community has to do this with a Hex editor and its slow, cumbersome and no one really wants to hassle with it. It appears most in our community are not good at tools programming of this sort and those who are just do not have the time.

Basically to run it down we need a program that will allow us to easily and as automatically as possible convert back and forth from PC DOOM compatible wads to Jaguar DOOM wad format and vice versa and also is aware and lets the user know when the converted wad is too big to fit into the available space. Then we can use whatever PC wad editor to create totally new wads for running on our system.

I will post here links to information on everything relevant.

Here is a tutorial on everything known about the Atari Jaguar DOOM wad format:

Though the emulation scene for our console is not great they will run DOOM for checking purposes.

This is the basic outline of needs on this. The details might change a bit but I will post those here for those interested. The only thing I think might change in detail is how intelligently the developed tool may deal with size issues of the wad being converted to Jaguar format. But will work on getting that looked into ASAP.

If there are any questions please let me know.

Thank you all for your time.
