Community interested in hiring C retargetter.

We are a community of enthusiasts for a Legacy console system, the Atari Jaguar.

Atari Jaguar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The system needs a C compiler retargetted for its GPU. Our community would like to get some price estimates on what this would cost to do. We would then begin fundraising this amount. Being a small community it would be fantastic to find someone willing to understand the monetary constraints of a small community and work out a good bargain with us and to use this for a sidejob and a personal challenge.

Our research indicates that LLVM would be the best candidate for retargetting to the Jaguar's architecture.

Reputations of anyone interested will be thoroughly checked for obvious reasons and there will be some legal paperwork.

    Thank you for your time.

Unless you have strong reasons, you should not imply that you want or need a particular compiler targeted. Programmers with that specialty tend to want to work with the tools they are familiar with.

You may also get more interest from programmers if you tell people up front what community you are with and what technical resources you have available. A specialist might be more inclined to bargain if the community already distributes a lot of resources, tutorials and games here, for the platform. Do you already have freely available and thorough documentation of the target GPU or must this documentation be purchased? Do you have a freely available assembler or does an assembler need to be targeted? Do you have a linker available and if so what kind of object formats does it support?
