Exclamation Looking for C coder, Starcraft 2 maps, excellent pay!

Hey guys, looking for a C/Lua/JASS coder for the new Starcraft 2 game coming out. Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of Starcraft 2 is offering a new feature for map makers. Basically map makers will be able to sell their very good maps for a self-determined price.

Starcraft 2 will have roughly 6-8 million people buying the game, and a very large percentage of those people will be playing online; that's where the map making team comes in.

Our goal is to create some awesome maps bursting with creativity and fun, and sell em for a fair price.

The numbers I'm estimating now, is about 1/2 - 1 % of the market purchasing one of our maps at around $2.99 a piece. Blizzard will probably take $1.00 of that as a broker fee.

30,000 people buying the map for $1.99 profit is ~$60,000, split up between a 5 person projected team that's $11,000 per person for ONE map. Imagine something like 120,000 people at $2.99 profit a piece. This isn't day-dreaming either folks.

All money will be split 100% evenly between all team members. No one makes a penny more or a penny less on any project.

The map editor programming interface will be based on the C language. Projected outlook for 1 map will probably look like 2-3 months. A lead game designer for Blizzard Dustin Browder has stated that good map makers should be able to quit their day jobs around 4:30 on this Youtube video.

Currently on the team is myself who will be the marketer so people will buy the map, I'm also in charge of Web Design and customer relations at the moment. Also on the team is another guy who has a bachelors in Game Art and Design. He'll be our lead designer.

If anyone is interested in this excellent opportunity, please PM me or e-mail me pimsh0 AT hotmail.com . We also need a modeler. We may need 2 programmers so don't be shy! We need people with relevant experience and a passion for gaming. This could turn out to be very monetarily beneficial so we aren't messing around, serious applicants only!

    Thanks,
    Tony

It does yeah, it's what we'll be working with. Because it's such a powerful editor however, capable of such things as first-person shooters, and entirely new games using the SC2 engine, we need some programmers to really tap into the power.

We're at a great point to be one of the first companies in the market to release a premium map, and there will undoubtedly be map making contests to get our name out there too.

Again, pimsh0 AT hotmail.com, PM me, or Creative Scape Dev Forums for applications.

The new Starcraft 2 engine will be very much awesome, and I am so very getting the game, but I won't join your team :P I think you're recruiting too early, wait for people to get familiar with the engine and then start making stuff

Gotta get an edge on the competition. I have a guaranteed beta spot so our team will be able to get stuff going earlier than most the others. Win-win, have a game art and design guy on the team too.

I'll code the stuff if I have to, but I'd rather find a guy who can spend more time on it as I'll be marketing etc.
