But I think that's only one possible implementation.
Most of the source code will be in your STL implementation because a lot of it is template based code that needs to be available to the compiler. What compiler and standard library do you use?
i use msvc 2008
Well then go into your VC++ include directory and open some of the header files like "string", "vector", "list"...
Most people will run away screaming when they try to read the code that the compilers use.
Make sure you have plenty of Advil handy.

And also realize a few things:
- Bad idea to alter header files.
- Bad idea to think that because one compiler uses one implementation, that their implementation is the only real way to do it.
