HELP with CPAB questions

Here are the only ones I can type out. I can't type out the diagrams or math problems obviously....they have these wierd word sequences:

Anyway, here are MY answers in Bold.

I think you've got most of them right.

I couldn't get these...atleast I don't know if I'm right!

Q: What is the missing number in the following series?
12, 144, 16, ?, 20, 324

A)256 B)216 C)238 D)234

Logically it looks to be A) 256, but then that doesn't fit with the 324?? :(

Q: Which number in the following series is incorrect?
5, 13, 35, 73, 158?
I picked 73, although not sure why.....

I think the answer is 234, as that is the sequence of 144, 234, 324 (and the next would presumably be 24, 414). I could be wrong, of course.

I have no idea on the second one.

158 is an even number unlike others, so I'd pick that.

P(n) = (n-1)*(n-2)*(n-3)*(n-4)*(n-5)/(-120) * 12 + (n)*(n-2)*(n-3)*(n-4)*(n-5)/24 * 144 + (n-1)*(n)*(n-3)*(n-4)*(n-5)/-12 * 16 + (n-1)*(n-2)*(n)*(n-4)*(n-5)/12 * 256+ (n-1)*(n-2)*(n-3)*(n)*(n-5)/(-24) * 20 + (n-1)*(n-2)*(n-3)*(n-4)*(n)/120 * 324.

P(3) = 256.

I really don't like questions like this. :)

That's one hell of an expression to come up with in the few seconds you typically have to answer these kinds of questions :)
