Motevation?
Hi, this is basically a followup from this thread...
http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?t=91944
I got the book, but lately I've been finding me avoiding starting to read it, I need motivating..
I really want to learn C but I just can't find enough motivation to dedicate my time to learning... has anyone got any advise?

Why do you want to learn C?

Instead of learning the syntax of a programming language like C, maybe you should focus on learning how to program. Here is a good, free book that teaches just that:

When you've worked through that, or if you want to try something a little more challenging, there is this book:

Learning & understanding algorithms and the underlying methods of programming first will ultimately be more rewarding in the long run... I guarantee after you have read & worked your way through any or both of these two books picking up C will be a snap.

Its more the fact I just started school here in canada [from moving from england], and I've wanted to learn to program for a while, I really want to learn C, I feel torn in 2...
Any ideas after hearing that? :D I feel kinda retarded now..

You don't "really want to learn C".
If you did, you would feel motivated because you "really want to learn C".
So its hard to help you.

I was waiting for someone to say that... lol
I guess I'll wait to get more settled and hopefully I won't be as tired when I get back, thanks...
